Dr Laengle is the founder of Existential Analysis. He is the organiser and is responsible for the training students will undertake in EA. He is assisted in the UK by Julia Morozova and Aleksandra Kupavskaya. Both are trained psychotherapists and assist Dr Laengle in the running of Existential Analysis in the UK.

DR. DERRICK W. KLAASSEN

Derrick W. Klaassen, Ph.D., R.Psych., is a Registered Psychologist in private practice, and an Assistant Professor of Counselling Psychology at Trinity Western University in Langley, BC, Canada. His academic and scholarly activities include teaching graduate courses in professional ethics, psychopathology, research design and grief counselling, as well as providing clinical and research supervision. Dr. Klaassen’s clinical and research interests focus on existential and spiritual issues in psychotherapy. He has completed clinical training in Existential Analysis (between 2006 and 2011), and currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Existential Analysis Society of Canada.

Beth began her work life as a high school teacher and office administrator and very much enjoyed her experiences working with curriculum, planning activities for youth and working with students in the classroom. Time and life experience revealed a real passion for working one on one with people in a helping capacity and this lead Beth back to school to get her Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. Following her Master’s she worked at Jewish Family Services as a counsellor for 5 years and then left there to open a private practice which is still presently active. Beth wrote a textbook for an Online Psychology 12 high school course and continues to teach this course. She is an active member of Existential Analysis Society of Canada where she is a board member, co-trainer of 3 cohorts and the Chairperson of the Training Committee. Her personal life is as full as her working life. She has three adult children who she and her husband enjoy spending time with, she enjoys walking and exploring as well as reading and journaling.

Käri-Ann’s first career was in outdoor education followed by over 20 years working with children, youth, and families. She is very passionate about experiential learning and thoroughly enjoys instructing at a counsellor training college and also has a private practice, which includes both group and individual supervision. Her approach is varied, but is deeply rooted in existential analysis, savouring advocacy of the human being and honouring of their experiences. Kari-Ann is active with the Existential Analysis Society of Canada as a board member, and trainer of three cohorts. When she is not working, she likes to spend her time in the mountains, on the water, and in the garden.
